I realize this is a Cub Lo-Boy!! Can anyone narrow down the year, engine, etc? It looks like it might say "184" or "154" on the fender. Is this right?

Thanks.

Looks to be an early model 154 Cub Lo-Boy to me. The blue stripe tells me it it is the early model. The later models have a black stripe. Overall a good tractor model to have.

Excuse me, but is that an uncovered drive shaft just below the operator seat? It looks very dangerous!

About 40 years ago, my Grandfather had a couple of old WW2 Half-Tracks that they outfitted with booms for moving around huge sheets of T1 steel at the shop.

These things were in horrible condition, but got the job done.

Inside there was NO transmission tunnel covers. The flywheel, shafts, and everything else that moved was sitting right there, just a foot away from the operator waiting for lunch time :)

Stephen King would have been proud.

I remember a post on here a while back ago where a drive shaft let loose from the hydro on a CC 1800 series and it beat the life out of everything under the tunnel cover especially the hydro control rods. I would never run a shaft drive CC without that cover in place :)
