my kioti dk35 worked fine two days ago, was pushing a bunch of rosmary brush over and the hydraulic warning lamp came on. so i turned the tractor off, removed all of the pollen and junk from the screen and grill and radiator fins as has been suggested here and let the tractor cool down.

go out to start it today, the instrument cluster lights up, but nothing when i turn the key, almost as if i don't have my foot on the clutch. i look down and sure enough my foot is on the clutch pedal and i am like huh? i charge the battery, it shows its fine the lights and signals all work. i try jump starting it with the truck. nothing. not even a starter trying to turn over sound only the faint clicking sound you get when attempting to start. the pto swicth is in neutral. none of the fuses in the box are blown, i could not locate the slow blow fuse near the alternator as indicated in the maual. i am at a loss.

i am think maybe the sensor that detects either clutch depression or pto nuetrality has gone bad....any thoughts on how to diagnose the problem?

the good news is that the tracotr is still under warranty but i like to figure and fix things myself if possible especially if it saves me from havign to get the tractor across town to the dealer.

thanks ahead of time.

Check to see if you disconnected any lines under the tractor while you were pushing over the bushes. I've done that and inadvertently disconnected my 4WD electrics. I don't know about electrics important to starting but I'd still stick my head under the operator station on both sides and make sure none of the lines running right under where your feet are have been disconnected.

You might make sure everything is in neutral, especially the shuttle shift. Or could be a wire pulled loose in the brush as Island tractor suggested.

You hear a slight ckicking sound?

Check conections on the battery and the battery ground and anywhere else you can see a connection.:D :D

as far as the hydraulic light coming on...check behind the hydraulic filter base. there will be 2 wires that go to sensors, plug them back in and the hydraulic light will go off.
as far as the "no start"...check the batttery cables paying close attention to the ground. then check down the left side of the engine as see if you have ripped out a wirring harness. If that does not get you going, then I would point my finger at the ignition switch. I have had to replace a few of them.
be very careful pushing brush. You can rip out a bunch of wires real easy.

every body has had great ideas, but nobody suggested pull the cables off the battery and starter, make sure everything is nice and clean and shiny.

It's embarassing to admit how many times I've looked at all that other stuff, and it was just dirty terminals. Oh yeah ,once with the CK20.

Guess checking the connections doesn't count???:D

I gotta second(or third, lost count) on checking/cleaning/tightening battery cable connectors and terminals.

Just after the change to winter type weather a few months ago my tractor didn't start, but the dash idiot lights were on and I'd get a click(fuel cutoff). No starter engagement. Checked the battery connections, ground clamp was slightly loose, just enough that I was able to twist it off by hand. I cleaned up terminal and clamp with a little sand paper, reassembled and tightened properly.........................fired right up.

UPDATE

thanks for all the advice to date....

i charged the battery cleaned the terminals, dielectric grease and a snug fit.

found a wire that had pulled loose....attahced just behhind the hydraulic filter...probably the reason the hydraulic warning lamp came on the other day.

checked the switch for the clutch sensor...appears to go in and out properly.

STILL WON'T START

plenty of gas
kill swithch not pulled
in nuetral
pto off

is there a way to bypass the starting mechinism to get it to even attempt to turnover....this must be an electrical problem....starter won;t even engage.

i am at a loss.

Do you have a DK35 or a DK35SE?
If you have a DK35 make sure you have the pto switch to the right of the steering wheel in the off position.
If that still does not work then let me know and I will tell you by phone how to get your tractor started.

If you have an SE model make sure your pto switch is off and also the shuttle lever is in the neutral.
If it's a hydro make sure your range lever is in neutral.
Let me know how you make out.
