I read; Its bite is not venomous.

most water snakes are very likely to bite, however they have no venom.
So.... what you should do is clean the dog up and if there are any cuts use hydrogen peroxide and don't worry about it. They will bite at my dogs and then my dogs kill them. They pick them up and shake the snake doodoo out of them...and get on with dog life.. ( these water snakes here are called "water bandits" or banded water snakes)

as long as your sure of the species, the snake does resemble a moccasin, if it was a moccasin then you might want to take some other precautions

Connie,
Do not worry about it. It is completely harmless. A little peroxide will do. I have over 30 years of handling venomous and nonvenomous snakes from all over the world. So I know a little about them. We often catch the large water snakes in our pond, throw them on the bank and let a new puppy run up on them. The snake will strike at them and scare them pretty good. The reason we do this is it teaches them early on not to stick their nose or try to play with a snake. This prevents them later on from being bit by our local copper head and rattle snake population. Your dog will now probably run from all snakes which is a good thing. Hope this helps. Ryer

Even if it were venomous it most likely will be ok. The farm dogs we had when I was young would come home with their face all swollen and they did not feel to good for a few days but they always were fine in a couple days. I know you want to take care of your dog, and you should, just saying that even if it was venomous things will be ok in the end.

I for one would to know how your dog fared.Should I assume that because you did not update that the dog is fine....or did you bury him and find another already?

Hi Connie
I'm very happy your dog is OK. The hard spot where he (or she) was bit is probably scar tissue.

As far as your TC29 brakes...have you posted on the TBN Owning/Operating or Parts/Repairs forums? Or in the New Holland forum?

I suggest you post on one of the forums I suggested. Don't post the same question on more then one forum...that will just confuse the issue.
Try to be as descriptive as possible with your problem.
