Tractor
BX2370
Hi to all. Vietnam Vet and retired LEO 74 YO and my BX 2370 has me stumped. This is probably the very best investment I have ever made for cutting the weeds and blowing the snow here in the NY Catskill mountains.
While mowing today all was working fine until I heard a metallic ding on the deck and found this stud bolt in the grass. My 3 point hitch works fine but the mower deck is at the lowest position and will not go up. I can't easily see where this stud needs to go but I am sure it is the problem. I think I can fix it if I can find where the stud goes but the other problem is the the dial that shows 1,2,3,4 TOP is frozen solid and refuses to turn.
I am at least 100 miles from a dealer and probably a few hundred dollars short not to mention no way to get the tractor to them. I could keep a Chinook H-47 flying back in 1972 but I just need a little help with this one.

That looks like one of the pins on your 3pt, not really a bolt. I would look under your 3pt. where it attaches to your tractor. Just crawl up under there and start looking, you will be able to see where it is missing from

The mower deck is hooked up to the three point to control the up and down. It a mechanical linkage and I bet that part came off the linkage.

You height knob will only turn once the deck is lifted higher than the setting. When the deck is down all the weight rests on that step of the adjuster. This makes turning it not really an option without some major force, likely to break the knob.....

Time to either drop the deck or support it from underneath to be able to work. I would opt to yank the deck to work on the linkage. But I have tools and machines to man handle the little tractor and/or deck.

You've received good advice, heed the information.
Welcome home brother! I was drafted in 1966.
