Please help! 54" Mower deck problems.

Someone over at another site said the belt is the wrong size, being a b size vs A? It does seam like this belt doesnt sit in the pulley right. Its a JD belt that I had them cross reference with the 54" deck for the 425. I watched him pull the part up on the computer. Could it be the previous owner swapped all the pulleys with a smaller belt size? I couldn't imagine they did that, since the deck has less than 50 hours on it. It looks brand new. The pictures make it look old and rusted but thats all dirt, I have it all cleaned up now and it looks much better.

You may just have hit on the problem. Looking at my 54" deck and your pics, the spindle pulleys are different. Maybe why the belt is loose, or doesn't seem to fit.
I'd have the parts guy run the serial number of your deck, and compare some pulley numbers with that serial number and what you have, as well as the belt number that goes with them.
The pulleys on mine have pressed out notches, not holes as appear on your pics in the spindle pulleys.
What is the serial number of your deck?
