New Holland TC30
Thinking about getting a plastic mulch layer. Only issue is that I only have a 30hp tractor with 4 wheel drive (New Holland TC30). There only seems to be a few options available. An RB448 from Berryhill or Nolts. A Rain-Flo 345 Series II Flat Bed layer. Anybody have any insight on either or another model that would work?

There are other manufacturers of plastic mulch layers that are talked
about on the forum you have to decide how much work you want to do
with your mule and whether you want to build raised beds and install
drip tape at the same time.

The issue is more of having enough ballast in the tires and good
tread as well as dry ground conditions to do the work.

In an example, potato growers harvest, till the ground build the new hills and then come spring time
plant the potato cuttings on the ground and bury them using the hilled rows made the fall before simply by
splitting the rows in half and then burying the spuds laid on the ground in perfect rows that are then compacted
slightly to prevent damage to the cuttings from air entering around the seed spuds.
No sense in having dud spuds when you can have greater potato doing it this way.

Get a 2 ft or the new wider 3ft model produced by Holland Co

Earth Tools is distributor.

Small and inexpensive.

Works great for all that I do...single row crops.

I have had one 15 years and use it for commercial production too.

I bought mine direct.

We used a Buckeye Tractor mulch layer and bedder for 2 years. Didn't like either one very much as they seemed very finicky. Last year bought a used Nolts and it is much better made and does both shape the bed and lay the mulch in one pass. Very pleased with it. Their mulch lifter does a good job, but very heavy unit. I don't think your TC30 will handle it.
