Yeah services like ubifi LTE, no data limits. Makes you frigging wonder why the vendor doesn't offer that as a plan direct to their customers. Really yanks my chain.

While i used to badmouth comcast, now that I'm forced to use satellite I wish i had the option of comcast again. They are pretty reliable speed-wise, and also price raising-wise.
Still cheaper than my mediocre $110 satellite internet. Cellular is not reliable on any carrier in my area, can only make calls from one room in the house, and century link wanted $60/mo for that 1.5mb speed.

We got Comcast internet and phone for essentially the same price as from Centurylink: somewhere around $70-80/mo.
One new issue is I could not get my Roku to work on the main floor, just one up from modem here in basement. Said weak signal. Would not take the wifi password.
Looked at Wifi repeaters on Bestbuy. Had one called PT Link for only about $20. All the others were $60 and up. Anyone had any experience with an inexpensive one? Wouldn't often use the Roku up there. Wife doesn't use it.

If you are getting a cell signal...look at boosters...amps...and antennas.

Anywhere from $60 up to $350. Steep to watch an occasional movie or to watch football up there rather than the basement.

I tried a $600 WE BOOST booster, the problem is the signal is not consistant, and never more than 2 bars. Ended up returning it after many hours of trying to find that perfect spot to no avail.

Wifi extenders for the most part are junk. Look at Mesh Systems for good wifi coverage. The problem with Roku's is they are junk also. You have to be on top of the router for the Roku's to get a good signal. Not the router's problem

Mesh with repeaters is what my neighbor says they have. They've a business next door. Says he can get his wifi almost to the end of his driveway, which is probably a good 1/8 of a mile.
Very pricey on Bestbuy.
My upstairs Roku worked on the Centurylink modem.

Wife says she never uses Roku. So, no problem.
Found something called XFi pods from Comcast/Xfinity for $119 for 3 of them. They plug into electrical outlets throughout the house and boost the signal along. Good to know.
