Just want a 2nd opinion on the direction of the piston/rod. I removed them all and marked which cylinder and assumed that the arrow on the piston points to the exhaust, but can't honestly say I verified that before taking them out. I installed new pistons on the rods with new rod bearing. Below is how the manual says to put them in,it doesn't reference the arrow and as far as I can tell, there is a dimple on both sides of the rod. The numbers on the rod/cap are on the same side as the arrow. I'm putting them in the with the OS25 one the injection pump side and arrow pointing out the exhaust. Seem right? pictures to follow

I guess while I got you here, what's your thoughts on replacing the rod bolts? I've talked to a few people (dealer was one) and they said it should be fine not too,the cost doesn't bother me, thing is it takes a couple days to get them in and that would be the one thing that would keep me from getting this back together early this week as opposed to late next week. Grass is getting a bit long

I would replace the rod bolts. If the factory states it, that's good enough for me. If you have to do any trial assembly to check bearing clearances, etc. use the old bolts. If everything checks out OK, then install the new bolts.
I know a lot of newer engines use "torque to yield" fastners that are one time use.
