Pipeline clearing

Hey guys, wrapping up my last few classes of college and was thinking about maybe working in the ROW side pipelining, how exactly does one get in with clearing company's? I still run the mulchers my boss has and here of late I'm doing more dozer work than anything. I just want to try something else before I get into deep water drilling.

I would take resume to there office,I like to speak with them in person. Can also call and ask if hiring,if they are , ask if can get a interview,they may just get you to fax/email resume over first. I got tired of the traveling and wonted to be grounded but still miss the operating.My buddy still travels the U.S doing it,no telling where he's going to be month to month,some towns not to bad,others may have to stay in bad motels. Its not for everyone,better if living the single life

Well I know the owners of a huge pipeline company pretty well, but the whole idea of just showing up and hopefully getting picked kinda bothers me, I have a great résumé with many references, I'm a decent welder but sure ant a bead hand. I'd just like to get my feet wet with it for sure, before I make a career choice

Not showing up at job site,the company office. I have also filled in as welders helper,to do something different out there,learn every position.
