What type of pipe insulation do you use for water lines and how effective is it? What about longevity?
I've used the foam tubes but they degrade in sunlight. Is pipe wrapping better? If so, which one?
I've got some new 2" PVC lines at the well tank and pump that need some protection.

Why not slit a piece of flexible drain pipe and slide it over the pipes after you insulate them with foam tubes?

That would keep the sun off of the foam...

They also make line hiders for Mini Split HVAC units if you want something that looks decent, but those things are maybe $60+

Wrap the foam pipe insulation with the aluminized duct tape to keep the sun from degrading the foam.

Flame retardant duct tape

My only insulation need are hydrants scattered out through property, and I use a combination of foam insulation secured with tape and a section of waste PVC pipe slipped over that and a hole drilled in side for valve and topped with a cap.... Keeps sun and rodents from destroying insulation....
