Does anyone use the pins to hold the mower deck in the up position. Thought about putting them in when grading the driveway but just didn't seem worth it. Do you guys ever pin the deck up? I suppose if you were grading dirt or doing some serious work in rough terrain - however - wouldn't you then just slip the mower off? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

If I am going to do a lot of loader work I will take the mower deck off. But sometimes if you just going to do some bush hog work using your 3 point hitch it is just easier to pin the deck up. It only takes 10 seconds to pin the deck up and then your free to use your 3 point. As far as loader work yeah you can leave the deck up which is the same as pinning it up. You just put the pins in when your using the 3 point.

I pin mine up when I have a little job and am feeling lazy.
I tilled the wifes flower bed and pinned the mower up for the whole 1 minute tilling job.
On my 35D when the mower is pinned up it has lots of clearance, but never measured it.

I also pin my deck up when brush hogging or doing FEL work.
Speaking of pinning the deck up, how do you guys do it? On my 914A MMM mounted on my TC30 each pin rests in two adjacent brackets when not in use. When in use, the only way I could figure out to pin the deck up is push the pin through the deck bracket, into the first of the two adjacent brackets mentioned above, and secure the pin there with the hitch pin clip between the two adjacent brackets.
I hope that makes sense . . . is that the correct way to pin the deck up? If so, it seems like a poor design to me . . .
