Pin Rod on 520 loader

Anyone replaced this part? I believe the PN is W42163. Is it just a stabilzer for the lift arms? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Often wondered the purpose myself. The loader arms have a crossbar for support and the attachment would keep the ends in line. I don't see why you need the long rod and can't just replace with two pins.
