Big Barn.
"Unfortunately they are ALL gone now and I have a community of younger families who have actually complained to me about the ridge of snow left in front of their driveways when I clear the street. Pictures of your snow weapons

I am looking forward to just shovelling the snow around the house. If the AWD SUV is unable to make it out I suppose I will just have to stay at home."

I hear what your saying BB,years back neighbor had BIG walk behind snow blower which ended back in shop for repairs and we were getting 2-3 snowstorms week,I stop at the lawn shop purchase item and shop owner told me tell my neighbor to come get his snow blower been ready over month and bill been paid, but the service tech told me my neighbor was in no hurry to get the snow blower because he had some who plowing his driveway etc. for free which was me  from that point on until today neighbor blowing snow while I plow our driveway in warm pickup or on the tractor. ;)

HaHa!! that's a good one..
Next time he is broken down, let him know what you charge for plowing.. and double whatever you think it should be. :D

When I did snow contracts for cottage owners it was on a 'be done by Friday @ 5:00 basis.

One client showed up Thurs and gave be a blazing tirade as there was a 3 inch fall.
We were expecting freezing rain so I left that 3 inches to act like a sponge thus avoiding blue ice.
The a--hole even threatened to sue me.
So I did plow him and all but used a broom to get that last bit of snow.
I had a good laugh when he skidded all the way down his drive! (and I bet he fell flat on his face)

Another client was behind in payments and I learned he was vacating* come Sat so I dropped by to get his acct settled up.
He refused saying he was not leaving etc etc,
LOL, come that Sat we had a serious dumping (10-12 ins),
I honked and waved as I drove by watching him shovel his 500+ drive with his garden spade.

*school bus kids reported their moving,

I must admit I don't miss snow contracting.
Just doing my own drive with my heated CUT is enough 4 me.

I was going out and blowing everyone's driveway on my street when the storms were heavy. Never asked for anything. I stopped to talk to one of the neighbors one day while in my pickup and he said: "Oh, in the truck today not showing off in the tractor!"
That was the last time the tractor left my own yard for free. Two of the neighbors now pay me to keep there drives open all winter while they are away snow birding.

Nowadays I stay away from most everyone and blame it on Covid.

Last winter's arsenal:

Managed to keep my driveway mostly open all winter, but it was a struggle when a north wind would drift things in.

So this winter, I'm not screwing around.

drifts are why i swapped to blower about 25 years ago. never looked back. the only time i use a plow is for first few snows until roads freeze, or if snow is too sloppy. the blower blows it too far to cause drifting.
