I bought an old 6’ wide plow from a co-worker, a quick attach frame off CL, and a friend welded it together. It’s a bit heavy, I’m going to add ballast on a TS 3PH carrier and see how well it works: 637B4AEB-13A8-473B-B77B-AD1B451BA97E.jpeg3D124164-0AC0-43BC-920E-14C7856727CD.jpeg

Well, not really. 95% of what we do with them (Pisten Bully 400) is knock air from snow and level it out. Here it the thread about them.

Not much snow up here in cottage country either. Only blowed twice, and should have just packed down the second one. Freezing rain is coming (we are just South of L4N), which will likely take the driveway back down to bare gravel.

Gheez, I would love a foot or so of new snow right about now!

OK, here is my weapon of choice. Have taken it out 5 times this year and cleared 2-4" snowfalls with ice underneath. I took the 5 outings to tweak my tires. I have a Normand 74" hybrid blower on the rear, 850# of ballast on the front, R4s that I grooved and siped and just filled the rears with RimGuard. Haven't tried the rig with RimGuard yet, but I can now drag the full 1100# weight of the blower up a 7 degree icy asphalt drive in 2WD.

Are these "hybrid" snowblowers new this year? I've never heard of those. How do they differ from the standard inverted blowers? What is the 'hybrid' referring to? I'm interested to hear how it does, it looks like a top notch choice and a lot better than a front mount!

What, exactly, makes a snow blower "hybrid"?
