At the moment it is snowing lightly no accumulation as it is 42 outside. Not worried about getting a big dump as it is too warm for that. Melting like crazy around here rivers and lakes will be overflowing in the next week or so. Spring is here

Not so fast, K man. It is only about 19 here this morning, and we are about the same latitude as you (near the SW corner of Algonquin park).

It is supposed to get warmer (above freezing highs starting about Wednesday), but still below freezing lows at night for at least the next couple of weeks. So our snow will be around for a while yet. But, it will be great weather for the sugar shacks. Maple syrup here we come!

Jim,
What is the tractor and blower model pictured?

also in the top pic what is the tractor partially shown on the right?
I like the large front wheels and that low , wide stance

Thanks

Hi,
Sorry I for not responding sooner. The tractor in Center of picture is mine sitting at dealers lot before delivery to me. The blower I purchased is an inverted hybrid Normand 100 mounted to the three point hitch. I am not sure of details on tractor to the right.

We ended up with 15" yesterday that was supposed to be 2 to 4. Got a chance to give the new SSQA plow a good workout.

Looks like it was working good for you, congrats.
We only got a total of about 6" out of that mess down this way.
Got 2 or a bit more then that melted off, then a nother solid 4+ on top of a thawed and soft driveway.
Just drove thru today and it's melting fast, making the driveway a sloppy slippery mess, be glad when this season is past us.

Well, no more snow here in town, but lots still up at the cottage. Did a lot of blowing this weekend to prepare a neighbour’s driveway for his return from his winter sojourn in Florida. (It hasn’t been touched all winter!)

Here it is, partly cleared.IMG_0902.JPGIMG_0903.JPG

Above zero temperatures and rain this weekend, so I expect that will be right down to the gravel by the time he arrives on Monday. A good thing, too, because he does not even have snow tires, and his vehicle is front wheel drive only.

Two feet of snow Friday. All bucket work to clear the drives which were starting to go to mud.
Photo of Mom’s window I had to dig out. Also 6’ dog fence.
Ready for the snow to go....

Nice....

After weeks of reading and asking questions I have decided the SSQA angling front plow is what I will order with my new tractor. It is nearly 1/3 the price of the front blower, does not have the massive sub frame to deal with, no crawling under to attach the PTO, and I can easily switch from blade, to bucket, to forks as as needed. I am also looking for a used 3pt blower.

One pass down the drive with blade angled to move snow to center, return in reverse to blow out windrow...repeat on other side....done.

One question, how does your setup work for back blading?

Thanks

It works ok. I have no issues pulling snow from in front of the garage door. It doesnt roll to the side at all or dig into packed snow much.

When faced with 10' snow drifts digging out lifted F350s it will do about as good as a bucket. I really need a blower after the Bomb Cyclone this spring, but the blade did the job.
