^ I agree 100%. I use the plow more often then the blower, but the blower is great when needed, especially near the mailbox. I have 600+ feet of road frontage, when the plow goes by to wing back the shoulder it all ends up at my mailbox. Even smaller storms can deposit 4’ there at the curb.

*If* I could move that compacted snow with my 2wd machine and plow, (sometimes I can) it’s still not the best option because the bank that I push back kills visibility leaving my driveway onto the main road.

The 6’ blower takes care of it in a pass and a half and deposits the snow up the embankment out of the way and leaves no visibility problems.

Aside from that, I’d have to bucket the snow from the edge of the road up onto my property. That would be both time consuming and annoying.

Not sure what you mean by cleaning equipment.......

Clean up of my snowblower on my BX2230 consists of make sure there is now packed/frozen snow around the drive shaft, or the auger housing. 'Cause if it freezes, then I may not be able to snow blow next time. There is not enough sunshine to melt off any snow build up. Jon

Same here, I run the blower out wide open, then leave it alone.
I will usually sweep the snow off of the back so that it doesn't melt onto the shop floor and make ice, but that is 5 minutes at the most.

Need to spray the chute, impeller, auger and auger housing with Pam, or equivalent. As long as those are fairly clear, you shouldn't have any problems. My snow blower (and tractor) stay outside, even in the sub-zero temperatures we get in Vermont. Other then the chute clogging with wet snow and slush (my fault, I had neglected to spray them...and it's a real PITA to clear the frozen slush), I've never had a problem....
Of course, that doesn't include eating a door mat which I did recently...and I'm still working on getting it out of the impeller!

I blow 72" at 4mph. I don't go faster because my v-bar ladder chains will rattle out my teeth. I spend 1/2 to 1/4 of the time blowing vs plowing with a truck and boss (i.e. good) 7.5' plow. Despite a dusting of snow in the face, it's way less frustrating than going over the same stretch 3 or 4 times. I'm at 800' drive plus garage area and turnaround. I can be back inside in 1/2 hour if I'm hurrying. Maybe 45min if it's super deep or I'm taking my time...

I scrape with the back blade (at the same time as blowing) if needed.

Other than a cab, can't imagine a better setup.

Got 6-8" this afternoon so I took the opportunity to get the old JD318 out tonight. Terrible cellphone picture but it's what I had. Then used the 6ft rear blade on the L2501 to clean up a bit more and ran 2 miles down the road to clean my friend's driveway. No pics of it. 20190219_195445.jpeg20190219_194814.jpeg
