its about an hour and a half ordeal. there are quick disconnects front and rear but i doint want to leave hoses on all summer. there are 2 large hoses run between blower and power pack and one electrical control. the time includes mounting the hydraulic pump and powerpack. once mounted it only takes a few minutes to swap between blower and plow or bucket.

it actually takes longer to mount chains than to mount the hydraulic system.

and they got a work out this season. i still have nearly 3 feet of snow on ground. but its now in the 40-50F temps so it wont last long now.

Thanks for the info.

Fastrac - Snow Plough - Norwegian - YouTube
In Europe where we use truck for snow plowing, Grading implements for rural road grading and maintenance, hauling dump trailers with aggregate, and short haul of Farm products and supplies, large Ag tractors do double duty and are common on the roads.

That's why a high horsepower utility tractor across the pond is considered barely adequate, and the high power European utility tractors are about 1/3 higher hp tractors than best you see in the States.

The higher speed tractors have front suspension. A tractor opening the first race of World Rally Championship in Finland - YouTube
Factory Stock except for engine control software tweeks, good tires, and road gears, and it could plow a field.

I'd rather have a Fastrac that can crab.

The video of the Norwegian tractor plowing was considerably on fast forward.. if tractors work good for them, that is great.
The plow driver was cute, to say the least. :D

That tractor model has a top speed of 70 km/hr and the way the snow is curling off of the blade it looks like it is cruising along pretty well.

Which of the two drivers did you think was cute?

I'd like to see them film that speed with some actual snow (like 18"or more) on the road!:confused3: I can plow that fast in my truck if there's just a dusting on the road!:dance1:

Why not 90km/h, with the ability to crab steer, 4wheel steer, and regular (front wheel) steer? Available hydrostatic transmission that seamlessly switches to the regular box at 50km/h, you can lockout the suspension for loader work, central tire inflation, front/rear/middle PTO, front/rear hydro, onboard air, VarioPilot (drive from either side of the cab to see the implement best)...too much tech for me but neat to look at if we are dreaming.
