To All, thought I would post some Gator pictures. Also, a picture or two of my rare (very rare) 1995 Chris Chance Road frame, just built up. Original paint, bought new in January 1996. They don't make these any more. Yes, it is two different colors depending on the side from which you view it.

Sweet ride (the bike) I've been a rodie for about 15 years...the SARM Yellow looks cool. I ride an S-Works Specialized - not in this 20 degrees days though. When not riding or working, I'll saddle up on my JD 4720.

Thanks, it was a little project bike. I have several other rides, but since this was my first nice road bike, I felt it a good project to build it up. They are so rare these days that if you see one with the original paint and "Big One Inch" fork like mine has, it is a real boon. I thought about building it back era specific with Campy 8 speed, but those parts are very hard to find and I ride this bike fairly often still, so I wanted something that shifted well. It definitely shifts well.

Thanks Curt. I should have a chance to plow Sunday PM if the weather forecast is correct. I will let you know how it does.

Well, so far about 5" of snow here today. Not a big snow, but enough to break out the Gator and plow. My wife and I paved our driveway this summer and it makes it much easier to plow. I would have to say my initial impression of the Gator as a plowing machine is very favorable. It plows much better than my Ranger did. I think this is in no small part to the weight of the machine. At over 1700 pounds in its current configuration (minus plow) it weighs over 400 pounds more than the Ranger did and about the same as my previous diesel 850d, but with much more power. Sounding like an old Detroit 6-71 diesel when plowing, it did a great job. My only complaint thus far is that it seems this machine sucks down the gasoline pretty fast. My Ranger seemed to be much better on fuel.

This might be your problem with the gas mileage difference?

Probably true in part, but the Ranger did better on fuel even when loaded to the same sprung weight. Three cylinders take more fuel than two most times. An easy trade off for me given the power this XUV has.

Is that a JD brand plow or aftermarket?
