New Holland TC45D
Have had this thing for 3 weeks now just been too busy to post pictures and comments. This replaced a TC40D with SS. I added some extras to this one, Arm Rests, Front Grill Guard, Quick Attach Bucket with Loader and Factory NH Radio. My dealer screwed up and ordered the 5' HD Bucket instead of the 6' HD bucket like I had before. He talked me into keeping it by giving me a free bolt on cutting edge. Sure is eaiser to get around close places with. Hope I do not miss the capacity. He agreed to swap it out if I could not live with it. I also got the Woods Quick Attach Forks which are wonderful! Hope this is the last one I have to buy!

Did you get the radio and arm rests at the NH dealer?

looks great! I have found that I use my forks on my "40" as much as my bucket. I would like to know how you like the radio.

Radio, Arm Rests etc, RE: Above ^

The Radio is an Audiovox HD-500 model. Comes with control head that can be mounted away from the elements. New Holland part# 9673703DS "Boomer Radio". I bet you could get it cheaper from an Audiovox source. It has AM / FM and Weather bands. I did not follow instructions and mounted everything other places than the manual called for. TC45 was not out when instructions were written for first Boomers. Has a headphone jack that is necessary for noise unless sitting still. You can turn speakers on or off with the fade control.
The Arm Rests are also factory New Holland and are listed in the accessories section of the new tractor order information the dealer has.
As far as the property, I have 16 acres in Central Arkansas, the pond is a little over 1 acre with occasional visitors. (see Pic) Been here 12 years and spend every spare hour working on projects such as the current 5 year task of doubling the size of the house. Just about finished... Want to build a Timber Frame pavilion to double as a pole barn by the lake.
Hope that helps...

Just beautiful. The tractor (and the deer). Getting ready to close very soon on our 13 acres and do plan on adding a small pond, not an acres worth, but worthy of the folks in the air and ground that will enjoy it.

That's a really nice looking machine, Ken. Did you trade-in your TC40D or did you try to sell it outright? I've heard a lot about resale value, but it would be nice to hear about someone who sold their tractor by running a classified ad or on the open market. The thing the dealers have over the individual is financing. It's hard to find someone with $20k+ to "plunk down" on a tractor that may not have a warranty.

Also, your 5 ft bucket may come in handy for undercutting small trees you want to remove. My 6 ft bucket cuts such a wide swath that I have a hard time in dry ground. Even if it's a small tree and easy to dig, you still end up with a hole at least 6 ft wide that you have to refill. Even so, my TC45D constantly amazes me at what it can do. The bolt-on cutting edge really helps./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

My TC40D was one of the first units manufactured. I traded it due to the Transmission Recall. At the time I got my letter I had less than 75 hours on it. With the help of my Dealer and the Factory NH Rep, I got to trade it by paying the difference in price, at cost, between a 2000 40D and the 2001 TC45D. I also had to pay $10.00 per hour for the use on the 40D. The whole deal came to about a $2500 difference. They had my 40D sold before I delivered it to them when the 45D came in. I did not want a tractor with less than 100 hours that had the case split and torn down and put back together in a dealers shop. With my minimal use it may have taken 2 or more years for a problem to show up. It also gave me the chance to get 5 more HP on the same size platform, add some accessories, and get the new color. I am sure the dealer had to eat a little profit but worth it to them because I had bought 2 new tractors from them, 3 or 4 implements and sold 2 more tractors from my personal reference out of their trade territory to friends of mine. I even delivered one of the tractors for them. They were going to make me happy regardless of what NH did. The bucket was my only disappointment but I think that will be outweighed by the Quick Attach and the forks. I used them yesterday to unload a 500 Gallon underground Propane tank. The forks sure made it easy. You are right about the cutting edge, would not have a bucket without one.
