I finally got my JD 467 baler and JD 702 rake home. The baler is in very good condition, only 1400 bales or so. The rake has been out in the weather, but should work just fine for many years to come.

Did you find a baler?

My dealer has them come thru here and there. I suspect with all the baling equipment sold last year. If this year does not look good, there will be a lot of 1 year old baling gear for sale.

Picked up a MF/New Idea 2746A as a dealer demo. 1182 bales showing on the moniter. You have one of the cleanest looking JD's I have seen.

Very nice equipment.

Here's your first tip. Bale in the opposite direction that you cut and "lay" down the hay. It helps the fingers pick up the hay.

That's funny Kyle. I've been told just the opposite from all the old timers for years. We rake with a v rake in rows(after the first 2 rounds) instead of going around the field because the don't rake corners very well. Most of the time I never know if I going with the rake direction or against it. I really can't tell a difference either way.

I think this is a trick used down here by the bermuda grass hayers. Jiggs, tifton, coastal etc...

That's some sweet equipment. I'm jealous! Makes me want to run out and pick up that new M series Vermeer and a new V rake I've been wanting. Must be something wrong with me because I cannot wait for hay season!
