Manual Transmissions, Standard Cab and 8' Beds are just about history in trucks... not even sure if manuals are available period?
Seems 4WD is the must have when opting on new...
Diesel Sales are down per the local Dealer... they simply don't carry much.
I guess the emission equipment and DEF have had a part in that... although 440 HP on a superduty is impressive.
About half the trucks I did see, F150 and F250 have sunroofs... who would have thought that... they would have called you nuts a generation back.
I could be wrong... but I bet even if you could find a standard cab work truck it will have Auto, A/C and Power Steering... maybe not a radio because I just saw when that did not have a radio...
Could go with a 3.5' bed.

Who wants a tier IV diesel that has high maintenance costs unless you need a service body or must tow a large skid loader?
That said, when I ordered my truck i paid extra to just get Navi and not the Navi and sunroof open. Sun roofs just cause problems in my experience.
From what I read in the financial press, after souring loans to the energy industry, the biggest threat to banks are vehicle loans made to sub-prime borrowers.
My older brother will be buying my 93 chevy 1500 from me for his first truck. I would much rather drive that then my 05 duramax which I got for my first truck but will probably get rid of and drive my dad's 1 ton fordTime will tell... it started out with looking at the F150 and then it was upgraded to the f250 and then to the Diesel... kind of how things expand.
It does have the extended full coverage warranty.... it was my Brother's decision... hey my go to truck is a 1991 Silverado and wasn't using the 1996 F150 so I gave it to the Nephew.
The F150 was supposed to be for my brother... he just decided a 20 year old pickup no matter how clean is not something he was going to tow a stock trailer to Montana or Nebraska where 3 of his horses hail from... Rush Creek Arabs.
Like some said... you only live once.... and 440 hp is a number I never thought I would see in a pickup Diesel...
My story is almost exactly the same as aarolar.
Traded in an old (20 years) truck-tasks-only vehicle and got a reasonable trip vehicle with enough room and the ability to tow. My L3940 with accessories puts me past 1/2 ton towing. Got a GMC duramax, used, for a real good deal. Let someone else pay depreciation. Will eventually pear down a car, too, which should help with expenses even if the gas mileage isn't as high as it could be. Man alive, though, the Sierra Denali is crazy with creature comforts.
Infact, just today we are talking about borrowing a camper from my parents and doing our "out west" trip this year. Wouldn't be discussing it without the "new" truck in the stable.
