Picked up a new "accessory" for the tractor

Farmall C weights are flat, quite a bit larger in diameter, slotted on the perimeter. Designed to bolt to the relatively flat cast iron center disc of that tractor. I'll not get the numbers right but I'm guessing they were on the newer Utility tractors such as 424??

Model number is 6701-DA. Looking at a few pictures, looks like these weights were originally designed for the FarmAll A, B, BN, SuperA, etc... (may fit others).

They are approx 17.5" in diameter, and the bolt spacing is approx 4x13.5". Being that these rims are pretty standard faire these days (I believe they're Titan rims/tires), the bolt pattern seems to be universal.

Boy now we are picking on old brain cells. I think you are right. They ran small rears, like 24" or so. I do recollect them having bowl shaped weights!!! Cool stuff. Course if you are gonna use them you have to sit over to one side when operating the tractor..... ;)

Here's a few pics...

Something else I found that was interesting (to me anyhow) ... was that I hadn't realized that McCormick used to be part of the "FarmAll" brand too. Crazy how often these companies changed ownership and names.

Yep, knew the McCormick thing. Don't see many of those old B's around anymore. I think a well fed horse could outpull one. And I never understood the offset thing.

Used to be a mentally challenged elderly man that didn't have a driver's license. Had a B. Drove it past my house every Sunday to go eat lunch at the Interstate truckstop. From his house to truckstop was 9 miles one way. I always worried about him travelling the hilly blacktop past my house. Many people have died on this road. He was going a blistering 12mph. Had a homemade cab. Drove it year-round.

I like the old IH Farmall tractors but never cared for the offset steering. It was designed more towards cultivating is why they done that. I would love to have an H or an M.

Red matches the tractor and looks good. Leave 'em the way you have them.

Before I got the Kioti, I had a C. Easy to work on and if you had the timing right it would easily start on the hand crank (had two kids living here that would NOT stay off the equipment, but were too lazy to crank it over) even in the middle of winter.

If I had to take them back off for painting, they could be pink with yellow polka-dots and they would be just fine. I cant see them from the tractor seat anyway.

The offset thing, or "cultivision" as they called it. Was for one-row cultivation without looking backward, or for belly mount and rear mounted implements simultaneously. Those Cubs, As, Super As, 140s, and whatever the last one was called, 274 maybe, are still in high demand in the vegetable growing world. Pretty cool units for what they're designed to do.
