Picked up a little 1" pump on CL today, has a Honda GX31 engine

Was perusing CL today and happened upon a little 1" water pump for $80. It has a Honda GX31 engine on it, I ended up paying $50.00 for it, figured it was worth the money. It had no gasoline in it, put some fresh gas in her and it fired right up and idled nice. I pulled the pump assembly apart and cleaned it out.

Very nice find. Those little pumps are expensive. I have been looking for one to use with my water storage tank to use with the greenhouse.

A steal. We have a 3/4" Honda-pump on our VFD squad truck. It doesn't see much use but it always starts easily when we do equipment checks.

The best part was the seller was just over a mile from my house. I have to pick up a 1" suction line for it, anxious to try it out.

Nice score. We use pumps like that for making syrup, though we use fresh-water pumps and don't buy them used from other applications. Honda is well known in the syrup world as being top of the line for pumps and generators.

Well I picked up a 1-1/2" strainer, reduced it to 1" and made up a 1" suction line and brought the little pump down to the pond to run her.






I initially tried a 5 gallon bucket with an outside faucet running into it, but the pump was a little too fast for it.

I think this little pump will fit the bill perfectly for me.
