O.k., just thinking about puttin' the topper on the ol' pick-um-up and got to wondering what it might take to build a do-dad to fit on the FEL that might do the job. My Leon loader on the front of my Yanmar 2010D has a quick connect for the bucket. Thought I might make a quck-connect fork-lift sort of thing that might do the trick. Any thoughts?

I think most of the topper dealers just open the back window and then drive under it with a long pair of fork extensions (kind of like the arms that your straps hang from). Wrap them with some carpet scraps or padding so the inside of the shell doesn't get scratched. Seems like a simpler method than dealing with the straps.

I agree with JN4310 on the method - its easier. We used to hook a few straps to the side of the cap and lift to the ceiling with a center pulley, thus storing it out of the way also just back under and lower to put back on..
