Here's a little more info...
1. Find your picture on Yahoo.
2. Right-click the picture and then choose "Properties."
3. Swipe and copy the URL from the properties box.
4. Return to TBN and using the "Image" option from the "Instant Markup" area, insert the URL. You may see that your URL has "http://" in the copy you made. Delete this part or you may get an error and your picture will not show up in your post. Leave the first instance of "http://" that appears automatically when you select "Image" and delete the "http://" in the URL you copied.
5. Please post only small sized pictures (640x480or less) in your message. Large pictures are irritating to people with dial-up modems since they have to wait for your picture to paint while browsing the forum.

I may have forgotten something, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I've misstated something about the process. Good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

One thing to add...
If you want to practice this technique, you can right-click on John Miller III's picture above, or for that matter, my tractor signature in this post or any other picture or graphic in this thread. They will all show the URL and you can copy and paste the image right into the middle of your post.

<font color="blue"> I would like to know how you post the photo in text on TBN without making an attachment. Sure would like to know if anyone can help </font>

You can try this if the photo is not available on-line.

Post it as an attachment.
View the attachment.
Copy the URL of the attachment.
Edit your original post.
Select the spot in your post where you want the photo to be.
Use the Instant Markup feature called Image and paste in the attachment's URL.
Save the post again and the picture will be in it when viewed.

DOH! I've been slapped on the wrist again! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

OK, so use the Image tag sparignly, as the boss clearly states that he would prefer to see files as attachments to save space and loading time on pages.

I humbly appologize for the bad information, Harv /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

(Actually, it's good information, as far as accuracy goes, but we just shouldn't do it too often) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I apologize for any problems with my question regarding pacing photos in the text of the post. Thanks for the three replies that I received and for Muhammad's note regarding posting in the attachments file. I have been on TBN for over a year and have only posted (I think this is #40) post and I was more curious than anything. I promise not to abuse the privilege of posting and reading everything here. It is better than any of the TV channels.

Thanks again

Leo

No wrist-slapping intended, David, for you or Leo. I just happen to be **** enough to remember Muhammad's post from way back when. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Truth be told, I like inline images and have posted my fair share in the past. I simply take to heart Muhammad's concern about keeping download times short for those without giga-zip connections. It also makes sense that readers should have the option of opening an attachment, rather than having it thrust upon them.

Does that mean I will never post an inline pict myself again? We'll see... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Harv, you're not "****," but you are retentive. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I'm glad you remembered that directive from Muhammad. It's a good reminder to all of us. Thanks.. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
