I finally got myself a digital camera. Here a few pics of a simple PHD tripod I built a few months back. The welds aren't pretty, but it holds. It makes my PHD the easiest implement to hook up now.

A view at the top. I need to paint it one of these days.

Looks good. Welds look like most of mine. Gives me some ideas for what I need in my shop.

Thanks

Thanks for the photo's, you did a great job. Do you leave it outside all the time?

Yes it stays outside. I do not have a shop building or covered storage. I figure if I can keep it off the ground it will be okay.

Here is a shot of how I have the chain attached to the PHD. I made this with a strap bender I bought from Northern Hydraulics. I did not want to weld directly onto the PHD.

And to help get the auger in a vertical position without getting off the tractor.

Here is how I did mine, I hook up a come-a-long to the bracket I welded to the PHD, pull the pins and jack it up in my lean-to.
To reattach it, I lower the come-a-long, put in the pens, and drive off.
It takes very little room with the auger and the frame of the PHD both vertical.
I need a lot of paint on mine,
I retired from the FAA in Oklahoma City in 1978 and moved to warmer weather.

I like the idea of hanging the PHD and by having a strap clamp or bracket welded on it will always hang the same way.
