Peerless Transaxle

I have a reconditioned Tecumseh Peerless 6 speed transaxle that was never installed. It is still in the shipping box. I know it fits some Craftsman lawn tractors. How can I find out what else it may be used on?

You could check the internet. Look at similar transaxles and see what tractors they will fit.

Everything I see seems to point back to Craftsman.

Although this site seems to give multiple part numbers you could follow up on.

Is the "R" important? Direction of rotation?

Is that a belt drive off of a vertical shaft engine?

It is quite possible that it could be adapted to almost any small lawn tractor.

Clifford, I believe you are correct. You would have to transfer the pulley, fan, and gear shift linkage from the old Transaxle.

I am not sure what the R means. I am sure it is significant. It may mean reconditioned.
