patu d65 question

we have just purchased a used unit and altough it runs great there seems to be a gap in the unit
above the teeth so when it is working you can see the wood being chewed up
does any body have a pic they can send to me
showing that area so I can see if I am missing a protection shield or guard it is just behind the pull down feeding shute
to me it seems to be missing something
