I know this is almost a year old thread . . . I have the exact same issue: I have a Kubota MX5400 with a hydraulic top link and side link. The tractor has a Cat 2 3pt and all my implements are Cat 1. I added a Pat's Quick Hitch (cat 2 for cat 1 implements). The top link was not long enough after the Pat's added 4" in length to the lower link hook up points. My solution was to extend the hook up location at the top link with a welded bracket (a friend is a machinist and did the work). Here's a picture. There is a thread somewhere here from someone who did the same thing but I can't find that thread now.I have an MX5400 which is a Cat1/2 system...I'm looking to get a set of Pat's quick hitch adapters and I'm thinking I should order Cat 1....does it make a difference and has anyone put Pats on their MX5400? Any feedback on experience with them. All my equipment is Land Pride but one TMG tiller...thanks.
That is the best option for an MX especially for a Pat’s quick hitch; get the Cat 2 hitch. It’s easy to change the pins or add bushings on a Cat 1 implement to use on a Cat 2 hitch. But if you only have a Cat 1 quick hitch then you can’t use Cat 2 implements on the MX. And that is limiting for a tractor that is designed to use both Cat 1 and 2 implements.Pats on my MX5200 work great. Did you know you can get cat 2 pins and put them on your cat 1 equipment?
