Notice that Northern Tool sells these in Cat. 1 and Cat 2&3? Which one should I get? Assume that the opening for the pin is larger on the Cat 2 & 3 or it will lift more weight. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Welcome to TBN. Suggest you expand your personal profile so we can know your tractor, equipment and interestes. Without that, no realistic way to answer your question.

I have a 50ish HP tractor and got Category II PEC. For me, the right decision.

Look at the 3ph equipment you have.. is it Cat I or Cat II? If you have a smaller tractor and all Cat I equipment, then get a Cat I PEC. Else, Cat II.

Yes, larger pins/opening and weight capability as the Category number increases.

Best I can do without details.

If its not Pat's, he ought to look into it cause it looks like a copy.

Northern does sell Pat's easy change. Northern is even listed on Pat's site as a selling dealer.

Yes, Northern Tool does carry Pat's Easy Change. They have for around four years. They do not carry the stabilizer bar or extra washers. They only carry category #1 and category #2, if anybody needs a category #3 or the hybrids (cat #1-2 or cat #2-1, so forth) you will need to call us directly. You can order category #1 or category #2 with the stabilizer bar on TBN and get the discount. But where ever you buy them, we honor the lifetime warranty and 30 day money back guarantee and are happy to answer any questions you have.

Thanks!

I saw them there and on ebay along with some other styles and types, before I bought, I went with the EZ hitch instead, nothing wrong with Pat's. I chose the EZ hitch because it doesn't add any length to my lift arms. Two of my most used implements are pushing a 1000 lbs each and I might be wrong but I feel any additional length would be a problem on my rig.
