Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

I installed the Easy Hitch on Friday with Pat's help over the phone. The instructions were difficult to follow. Anyway, a few small issues had arisen. I'm hoping one of you guys know the answers. Here goes:

1) There seems to be a lot of vertical and horizontal play on the arms when it is not holding anything. When my mower deck is down, the arms are tilted down at a 45 degree angle. It hangs so low to the ground, that the BX 2230 cannot be transported on unlevel ground without the unit touching the ground. When the deck is up, the arms are up at a 45 degree angle. Is this the way it's supposed to be? Is it a turnbuckle thing?

2) The Easy Change hooks are also not in a fixed position and have a small bit of play in them as well.

3) What should be connected first to the rear blade, the Easy Change system or the third point bar from the tractor? How about when disconnecting?

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

You should pin your 3PH arms up if using a mower deck so they don't drop down with the deck.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

Thanks for that tip. I'm on week two of owning the BX and still haven't gotten the manual from the dealer who had to order it from California. I've been told to be patient until it arrives.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

I'm a little confused when you say pin the arms up. On my 7800, the arms are what lifts the deck up and down so if you pin them up, it will not allow the deck to drop down. I have always read that your 3ph arms should be parallel to the ground when your MMM is in use. Maybe I didn't quite understand what you were saying or is the BX different from the B series?

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

I know the B and BX are different size machines, but is the lifting mechanism for the MMM different? On the B series there is a piece that hooks over the lift arms that raise the mower deck. Is the BX set up the same way and if not, how does the BX raise the mower deck?
I apologize since my earlier post was not complete and clear.

Re: Pat\'s Easy Change tweeks

You actually remove the 3PH from the lift arms at the rear of the tractor and place each pin into a bracket with a hole provided for this purpose on the BX. The rear lift arms still go up and down with the mower deck but your 3 ph is not attached to them.
