Pat's Easy Change questions

I am about to spring for a set of the Pat's Easy Change devices and have a couple of questions. One is about the stabilizer bar: does it have provisions (marks or whatnot) for resetting it to a lengths known to be correct for various widths of implement pins? Another concerns a mentioned "New Version" of the Easy Change. Although I saw that term mentioned twice, I was unable to find anything about it for comparison to a more original version. Can anyone shed any light on that?

Have a few happy hours on the L3400 now, mostly brush cutting. Use a 5' King Cutter (TSC, light duty) and the tractor has no problem keeping it humming in the thickest of brush,briars, and saplings of all sorts, much of it cedar.

My stabilizer does not have "positions". I marked mine. I only need one setting but when I forget to remove it before using an implement, it gets squashed in so, the mark helps.
I've heard of the "improved" term but don't know what it refers to.

Just like HomeBrew's stabilizer bar, mine does not have any marks on it. However, you could make your own marks with a simple SHARPIE type permanent marker or you could notch it with a metal file. I find that I don't even use mine.

Not sure what they may have improved on the NEW version of the Pat's Easy Change. It is a simple design that works. One thing that I found VERY POOR were the instructions, however if I can figure them out then pretty much anyone can install and use Pat's with ease. I have it on one of my tractors and I have extendable lower links on the other machine I use and find the Pat's system to be easier than the extendable lower links.

The only issue I had with Pat's is the spacers (flat stock). I thought they were all the same, until I had mine installed and looked at the two left over.

Yep, they were different thicknesses, so I had to take one side off and replace the spacer with the right one.

I have the telescopic bars on my BX, so I have no need for the spacer bar, nor did I buy it.

Thanks guys for the input. I purchased the devices and they installed onto the L3400 without a hitch (pun intended). The info on TBN stated that 4" of straight lift arm is needed. However, on our tractor the arm begins to bend at 3-1/2" and although not a tight fit, another quarter-inch shorter would about be the limit. Also, looks like the makers rewrote the instructions, as they were illustrated, complete and easy enough to follow and I often have difficulties with written instructions. Hope this helps someone.
