I tried to find the answer to this problem in other threads as I believe it may be fairly common, but was unsuccessful. I recently purchased the PEC for my L2250 and am now a true believer that the PEC is excellent. The problem I am having is the extra 4 inches or so it pushes the implements back. This creates a problem for my brush hog as the shaft covers separate too far. What is the solution besides buying a new shaft? I've heard of pto extenders, but the ones I saw at TSC were adapters. The top link may also be an issue as it is extended to the limits...I know they make top links in extra long length. Any help/suggestions are appreciated...my field is getting longer by the day!!

not trying to be a smart ***** but why not just take off the pats and get mowing untill you get things sorted out?

I don't know if there is a better solution out there or not. I got a pair of EZ-Hitch adapters that seem to be a version of the Pats EZHitch. It pushed my rotary cutter out to the absolute extreme of my toplink when hooked to the top position. I did not feel comfortable running it that tight or in the top hole rather the bottom hole as recommended by the manual. I took the easy way out and bought an extra long toplink from Tractor Supply. It only cost $49.99 and is a bit more stout than the one that came on my tractor.

For the money, it seemed to make more sense to just buy the thing rather than run around looking for another solution that will probably end up spending at least as much.

TSC makes an extender that works perfectly for adding 4" to the PTO shaft length.

I know because I have one which I purchased from TSC...

Note that a roll pin holds it in place. Now, the purists here will say that you are nuts to semi-permanently affix this to your PTO output shaft. So, instead add it to the implement input shaft. You may need more than one extender, one for each implement. At some point it will be cheaper to buy a longer shaft, it just depends on how many implements you have...

Agreed....that is actually my plan, but I would like to find a solution due to the investment of the PEC
