I am posting this e mail that I received today might get me thrown off the forums, but it has offended me to the point that I would rather be gone than not be able to vent what I see as an injustice to the members of the this forum. I have posted my reply below. The moderators words are exactly as written with the exception of spelling corrections.

I had to kill the thread after Boodox and DocsKnottInn got into it pretty bad. I'm sorry it had to come to that. I read your attempt and peacekeeping and really appreciate the effort. I, for one, liked the creativity of the link that you posted. Thanks for trying to share.

I don't understand why you would delete the post after they both came to terms and made up/shook hands, call it what you may in a following post. Besides, there was no other posts to it after the other moderator gave his warning. I think that you have done the forums a disservice in my opinion by deleting it. It truly showed the American way that two people could start off disagreeing and in the end, recognize each others views even though they didn't agree with them...... If you wanted to end any possible future discussion, you could have just closed it and left the post or at least just deleted the few posts that you found objectionable....

Junkman, I have to take the heat for that as I recinded my apolagy and sent Boondox a really hot PM. So it sadly did not end there. The whole deal has left me uneasy and unhappy. I am just not going to disscuss this here any more because its one of those things where no one has any real answers. There is no right to war, No way to explain the feelings of those who lost family members on 9-11 or since. There is no way to say some one who has seen combat is wriong for their feelings or views. There is no way to really express the sorrow I feel for the first time in my life to say such dissrespectfull things to a Veteran and someone I would undoubtably be fast friends with in person. I think you did a great job at keeping the peace but the Moderators were right this time. My sincere apolagys to all of those who were offended. I am left to think of that old addadge that friends and family should not disscuss money religon or politics. Untill Yesterday I never really knew why. Sincerely, Dave

Rich -- The problem was with a couple of us who got too hot. That entire thread brought back memories I'd long ago tried to compartmentalize. Seeing your best friend turned inside out by a mortar is something nobody should experience, let alone a teenager. I wasn't sleeping well, the dreams, you know, and when the discussion escalated I became increasingly snippish. Another member, for entirely different but no less intense feelings, held different beliefs.

We clashed. Words were exchanged. Apologies were extended and accepted. Reason has prevailed. Let's just let go.
