Army and Navy. Their documentation requirements always quadruple the cost associated with producing anything for them

For sure. I didn’t mean to sound like I was criticizing the cost, it was more an explanation or justification of why our government spends more on products than some might think justified.

I'd like to buy a locking lynch pin like this one but nobody has one, not even my JD dealer can get one for me, and it came off of my new JD tractor.

Speaking of expensive parts... not very good pictures but this hand sized piece of sheet metal bracket on my snowsled is $119. Which will break from vibration just as this one did. I need to buy some thin wall sockets so that I can take it apart and fabricate something out of a piece of heavier scrap metal which I have kicking around. An hour shaping it with an angle grinder and I should have something a bit stronger, and considerably cheaper.

Edit: I was wrong. It would be $135. Plus shipping.
