I got a notice of change of benefits for my part 2025 D prescription plan.
My only prescriptions are 2 eye drops that I take for glaucoma. My current plan costs $9.90 per month with a $280 deductible.
The plan has different 5 different tiers for prescriptions. The deductible only applies to tiers 2 - 5. The eye drops are tier 1 & are totally covered by my plan. There also is no copay.
My total yearly cost under the old plan was $118.80.

Because of changes that were made to lower the cost of costly drugs to people. Starting January 1 2025, the same plan will cost $44.90 per month with a $590 deductible. The deductible will apply to all tiers of prescriptions.
After meeting the deductible, I will have a $5 copay per month per prescription, $10 per month total.
My estimated total cost next year for same plan will be over $1,200.

But the tv ads say they fixed it. Guess if your on insulin it is, other stuff not so much. Funny how some people claim they fixed a problem, turns out they just shifted it.

When your government thinks they can tell big pharma what they can and can't do :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Every action has a reaction..
remember when they made it mandatory that your children can stay on your insurance until 25 ? Yeah, the insurance companies raised your rates to cover it !
Your Government needs to keep their nose where it belongs !

My wife & I both have a CVS Aetna prescription plan. She does not currently take any prescriptions. Her monthly cost will also go up to $44.90. We will be looking for a different plan for 2025.

Good luck,
I take several different medications when I got my prescription coverage I ran the numbers everal different ways and there wasn't much difference in the annual cost of the plans. Between the deductibles and the cost when I got everything added in all the plans were almost the same dollars per year.

Wellcare Value Script. I was on Cigna last year and wife had Aetna. Saved 1400.00 this year with cheaper plan pricing and almost no drug cost

Got notice that my Humana Honor plan had some changes for 2025. Not only has all the minimums gone up but the worse is they are changing the giveback from $126 to $55 per month. Seems the heyday of giveback (Part B Medicare) plans are over. Going to make it hard on a lot of folks.
