Parking brake switch??

We have a Cub Cadet Tank that has been giving us trouble. When the parking brake is on it starts right up. When you release the parking brake it dies, but if you do not let the switch go all the way out it will keep running. We thought it was the switch but after buying a new one and installing it it does the same thing. Is it connected to other switches that may be bad that is causing this? Has anyone else had this problem?

Check the seat switch and the neutral switches for the "sticks".
What you are reporting is what is is supposed to do when you get off of the seat (with the park brake off, or with the levers out of neutral depending on how Cub chose to go)

Found the problem!

A little back story first, a while back we had problems with the fuel shut-off solenoid after changing the solenoid and the problem not being fixed we sent the mower to the repair shop. They "cleaned" the carburetor and said the problem was fixed. Our grounds guy used it for a couple of days and it started dieing again. I FINALLY figured out that the solenoid was not getting 12volts all the time. I would very from 6 to 12 volts at different times. I found an extra connection point on the key switch with 12 volts and ran another wire. Problem fixed.

Then we started having the parking brake issue. So from Aaron's recommendation I started looking into the seat switch being the problem. I traced the wire back to the switch and found it was connected to the same spot the fuel shut off was connected. Changed that and this problem has been solved. Thanks Aaron Z!
