Parking Brake Light?

   / Parking Brake Light? #21
I have a 2012 2800h. Dealer called Branson and confirmed that the parking brake indicator on the panel does not light up. Rear lights operate with both parking and brake pedal actuation. Was told the same dashboard is used on multiple models and not all indicators were used on some models.

On my 25 series, the brake lights come on with either foot brakes, or parking brakes. Whether the hydro is in gear, or neutral, if you set the parking brake, the "P" lights up on the dash, and the rear brake lights come on and stay on if the tractor is running.

Do you know if yours has a switch on the hand brake that has no wire going to it? Mine has the switch as you can see in the picture above and the tab where the wire should be attached looks much cleaner than the rest of the switch, which is an indication that there must have been a wire on mine recently. I suppose it could of had a plastic cap that fell off? Not sure why Branson would install a switch if they had no intention of hooking it up?

I've been thinking about this for some time. Since Branson seems to share instrument cluster through various models/series, it might be as simple as run the wire to the plug for the instrument cluster.

Here is a pin out diagram and a electric diagram for the cluster of the 15 series.

That looks interesting ptsg! I like the idea of the beeper too! Thanks!!!

I'll check and report back.

So I got into it today and confirmed that I have YG wire (positive) going to A11 and RW wire (negative) going to A12 on the wiring harness for the instrument cluster.

I removed the hand brake switch and cleaned it up to confirm good ground with the multi meter when the park brake was applied. I then made up a wire and attached it to the switch and ran it along the outside of the wiring harness towards the fuse box with lots extra. I'm heading back outside (cold windy day) to see if I can locate the RW A12 wire and see if I can tap into it. I don't have a diagram showing where this wire runs so its going to be a bit of detective work with a lot of good luck if I happen to find it. I don't really want to tap into it at the instrument cluster plug if it can be avoided.

I am bit confused now. From the diagram, it looks like the parking brake light already have the positive and all it takes is a wire from A12 to the switch for the ground. But on the pin-out diagram, there is a pin for the parking brake light positive.

At first, I thought all it needed, was a wire from A12 to the switch to ground the circuit.

I think we're on the same page ptsg. The A11 & A12 pins already have wires attached I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly) that YG (A11) pin will have power when the ignition is cycled on and if I can provide ground via the parking brake switch to RW (A12) we should get a park light light on the dash. Perhaps I'll put a voltage meter on the A11 pin and cycle the ignition on to see if I'm getting power. If there is power then getting ground to A12 via the switch will happen one way or another...
