Hi,
My '95 JD 5400 (hydraulic reverser transmission ) gets stuck in P if there is any load on the wheels. It is impossible to get it out of P. Last time it got stuck, I had to remove the load on the wheels by lightly pulling the tractor with my truck while trying to move the parking brake lever.
So, for now I have no parking brake. I have to use the loader & box scraper as parking brakes... Doesn't always work, I have a slightly sloped property. Nearly had a runaway tractor recently...
Is there any type of adjustment that I should make to fix this? I'm certainly not going to split the tractor to change the parking pawl, & assembly...etc... sounds too expensive. I'm hoping there's a simple fix I am not aware of.
Thanks!!!
Martin
