My neighbor passed last week after a quick pancreatic cancer from diagnosis to treatment to passing away.
They have an active young dog and 3 house cats… the dog and cats do not get along and the elder cat inherited from a family member does not like the other 2 cats and stays in the basement.
At the time my friend passed all 4 animals made their way in total silence to the master bedroom and just laid down… strangest thing ever and they were all next to each other for about 30 minutes and then one by one left…
Pets can be a great comfort and surely appreciated and we will probably never understand the total connection…

An update on my wife as she has been in a home for 18 months ( diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 3.5 years ago) her condition has really declined in the last month and unfortunately we have reached a point where I need her more than she consciously needs me . After 58 years it hard. She can no longer comprehend something she reads or is told and just sits and I can’t do anything to make it better
Sorry just needed to vent … old fighter pilots do have emotions
