Pallet forks

I'm thinking of getting some QA Pallet Forks for the 5030/853. Looking for uses other than moving some pallets around. Anybody have experience on how much the 853 loader will really lift. I know it has a 2300 lb lift capability somewhere out from the pivot point.

I'm thinking lifting logs, moving lumber, etc. Just wondering what other folks are doing with theirs?

I have a 5030HSTC with 853 FEL. I recently purchased the Bradco QA pallet fork setup; $650, Coeur d Alene Tractor, Idaho. It has a capacity of around 3700LB. I used it to lift and move 3 sod pallets each weighing 3000lb.

Research posts here on FEL hydo pressure settings and shim adjustment to the relief valve. The settings often come set below Kubota spec from the factory, and adjusting it up to the spec pressure gives you considerably more lift.

I'm using FFC forks on an L3130 tractor mainly to move sections of tree trunk after felling. The forks have not failed me although I frequently run out of lift and have had some exciting rides on the tractor moving this material over uneven ground. Have the ROPS up and seat belt fastened when using this attachment!

I have the same LA853 loader on my tractor. I made a set of forks 3 years ago and have no idea how I ever lived without them! I've used them for: moving lumber, equipment, logs, tree fort for my son, platform to stand on while painting, move pallets of shingles, etc...

I don't use mine much(maybe a few times a year) but when I do it sure does save some time.

I removed the FEL bucket to get more payload. Then, put a metal pipe into the cross member as an attachment point for a chain. Now, with the appropriate devices to stick into a concrete culvert weighing 2800 lbs, I can move concrete culverts around. I use them as corner posts for fences. They don't rot, tilt or move. This required a trip to Kubota dealer and smoozing with the mechanic... they raised my relief valve pressure from slightly under spec to 3000lbs.. a tad over spec... since all they had was a washer instead of the shims. With the shims one should be able to come within 30lbs of max spec. I just raise/lower stuff v e r r y s l o w l y ! Best $35 I could spend.

Are those Bobcat brand forks. I was considering getting a set for my 7040. Bobcat forks cost about $750 for medium duty with 48" forks. Is there a better brand for a better price?

I am really partial to Bradco/FFC forks. The backing plates that they build are really nice - chain hook in the middle and all...

Mine are made by Woods. I bought them last year when I bought my M95. So far I have only used them maybe 10 times but they are proving their usefulness. I have debated buying some forks for probably 10 years and it definitely was something long overdue!

I use my forks to siphon gas out of parked cars.

Gearmore heavy duty forks. Logging,Caring,Milling,Palleting, Everthing-ing.Must have need!!

At current prices, that would make pallet forks a profitable business investment!! Why didn't I think of tipping cars with forks... maybe because I don't have any yet... gotta get some!!

Just drop em where they want to be dropped....mainly... of course if you don't balance the weigh you better lower that FEL real fast. My favorite word while tractoring these sort of things is "OOOPS"

Pallet fork also good for "tractor front endo's"
