I'm looking for pallet forks for a 460 loader. The dealer told
me that the $1050 price for John Deere's is reasonable. I
can't quite swallow that /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. Anyone know a supplier of
pallet forks that will attach to the 460 loader's setup?

Have you thought about getting a JD loader-to-"generic" skid steer adapter then being able to buy and use skid steer attachments?

The thread below from about this time last year was on this subject. I believe the bottom line was for about the price of the JD forks alone you can buy the adapter and the (heavier duty) forks. Next attachment you want you're ahead of the game.

I paid $950 for forks for my 460 FEL. See pic attached. Others elsewhere in other threads were quoting prices of $850 and in that vicinity. One lucky TBNer even mentioned he got his for $300 (special deal since it was just rusting on the dealer's lot and no buyers wanted it for a couple years at least). $1050 is not reasonable. It's high priced.

That's list price. You can get them cheaper. Probably around $800-900. I looked at good quality ones from other places and they were all in the $600 and up range. For a little more you get the whole system. You'll forget about the extra money long before you'll forget about having to make do.

There's a manufacturer out here in Washington (Yakima, I think) making a very nice set of forks specifically to fit the quick attach system of the 400 series loaders from John Deere -- name of the manufacturer is Rankin (don't have their website up, but should come with a search). They're distributing to a number of JD dealers in Washington, the unit looks very good, and I'm getting price quotes around $580-$600.
