Pale yellow Teflon type tape

I purchased a 10" stroke hydraulic cylinder that came with two 90 degree ELS that are pre-bedded with a pale yellow teflon type tape. What does this color represent? Good or bad? I have several other threaded connections to complete so should I follow this color? Where to buy? Or use?

That is gas line tape.

It is better than white Teflon tape as it will not deteriorate when used with petroleum products.

Some people do not use Teflon tape for hyd fittings for their own reasons, but some people still use it on a regular bases.

I as pipefitter for 40 years..I have used a ton of teflon tape.On hydraulics it is recommended to use teflon pipe dope (liquid/paste).The idea is if you wrap over the end of the pipe thread pieces of tape can break off and hinder or plug hydraulic valves.If you are careful and leave one thread not wrapped you will be ok using tape.
