How long should I let treated wood age before priming and painting it?

At least 90 days and preferably 6 months is what I've sometimes read and usually been told. You'd like it dry and some of it is sold quite wet, then I guess it would also depend on the weather to some extent.

I gave my new deck 4 months -- and that wasn't enough. I haven't been able to get stain or paint to stick since. If I had it to do over again, I'd wait a full year... then wash it good with TSP and go from there.

One year, oil based primer and paint for 8 x 8's. My father in law owned a paint company.
