I have my tire off my rear rim and inside there is some surface rust . i going to sand it and paint . I was going to use rustolem or are there better products, also the outside too.

I would remove all rust, dirt, loose paint, etc.. on areas that had rust previously I would brush on a coat of Must For Rust and then use a couple of good coats of Rustoleum primer, then Rustoleum paint as a top coat. Rust remover

Another option: I have had good luck with POR15 for a super tough finish on tractor rims. -POR-15 Inc.

Another recommendation for POR 15!!. WOrks great. Tough paint.

POR 15 has a reputation for chemically bonding w/ rust to stop it. It is expensive and it works. Internal rim corrosion will eventually ruin the rim from the inside out so dealing with this is the right thing to do.

Ditto what the others said.. mechanically remove as much rust as possible. then chemically convert the rest. then paint it to seal it.

I like epoxy piants inside rims for superior water adn scratch reistance.. keep it sealed and it's hard to rust.. etc.
