I live in Western Washington. I plan to buy a new Kubota in June. With the boards help in a past post, I have decide to buy an L2800. I have seen the recommendations on Barlows, but it appears that shipping something here from there would eat up any savings there would be. Also I would prefer to have a local dealer.

The two closest dealers to me are in Shelton and Silverdale. Anyone have any experience with these dealers, or others, in Western Washington?

I have also considered going down to Western Oregon to pick one up, if the deal was right. The border is about 100 miles away, so would go there if the savings enough. However, my tendency is to buy local even if it costs me a bit more. That is what I did recently with my truck (paid $400 more for a local dealer, rather then the lowest price that was quite a bit farther away). Any dealer recommendations from Oregon?

Not sure about Kubota as I have a John Deere, but welcome to TBN.

Years ago I bought a Kubota 3240 HST from sunset equipment in St Helens Oregon, just across the border from washington. They also have a store in Longview WA.

Nice group of guys, price was good. Have never needed service, as I live 2 hours away on the coast, I do it all myself. I had a mechanic and the salesman go over the machine with me when I bought it, and they would not let me leave until I understood everything, from operations to maintence.

Price was ok, not great, but there are not of other options close by without a trip all the way to the big city. At the time the economy was going like crazy and they were selling machines as fast as they could get them, you could probably get a better price these days.

I was going for a 2800 at the time, after seeing the 3240 I could not look back.

rough year to be a fan of Cougar sports, I was almost a Coug myself, ended up a Beaver.:)

I have not bought from this dealer Issaquah Honda-Kubota Issaquah, WA (425) 392-5182.

But have been in a couple of times and talked with "Mark" very nice people, they sell a lot of tractors so prices seem pretty good. I live in the Tri-Cities and if I don't buy from the newer local guy I will go to Issaquah. They have a very reasonable delivery, I think the salesman said he wouldn't charge for it as they go that way often.

I have been looking at the Grand L3240, back in September I had a quote that was about $1800 less than the local guy.

Here is a clip of the email he sent back then, course it was only "good til" end of September but gives you an idea.

Your Price on the L3240HST and the LA724 Loader with Quick coupler and 72" Bucket is $21779.00 Plus Tax
0 Down 0.00% financing for 60 months Through the end of september, Mark Hovey 1-800-368-6260
Seems like the L3400 HST was like $18000, and the 2800 was maybe in the 15 range don't quote me on the last two prices.

I have heard good things about them, but never have delt with them so don't know what service is like after the fact. The few people I know that own Kubota tractors use the dealer for the 50 hour check up and oil filters ect. and that's about all. I agree though it is nice to get stuff from the local guy and if a problem does come up it is easier to service.

Good Luck Jeff

There is no sales tax in Oregon. If you buy there and use Kubota financing, they have to report that to WA tax collectors, who will send you a bill telling you to send them a check for what the sales tax would have been in WA. If you pay cash, or finance some other way, the dealer does not notify WA tax collectors, so you can buy the tractor in OR sans sales tax, take it home, and not be charged any WA tax after getting home.

I have purchased three Kubotas from OVS. They are in Aurora or McMinnville, Oregon.

Ask for Jeff and mention TBN.

Thanks for the advice. Will eventually check out the Issaquah dealer. Less than an hour and half away.

Had not thought about no sales tax deal in Oregon. With an 8.3% sales tax in Washington, that is a pretty fair difference. I would be doing a cash deal, so might work. Still like supporting my local guys if they can close some of that gap.

Swimmer, yes tough year for the Cougs, but wait until next year......

I bought a Kubota tractor from Sound Equipment in Everett, WA in 2003. They were easy to deal with and even delivered it to my place in northern Idaho.

If you have any kind of agricultural status on your land you pay no tax in WA or ID.
