My little lake dropped to a 40 year low. ( I've been out here 40 years ). It WAS 16" lower than I've ever recorded before. It's recovering now with the winter snow/rain. I doubt it will fully recover this year. That's a whole lot of water loss.
A drop of 1.3 feet over a ten acre lake = 4,247,100 gallons.

We have had an extended drought here in Central Texas. For the first time in 6 years I have owned this ranch, the four stock ponds have dried up. Some were over 20 feet deep with water....and now fully dry. I see lots of debris I not seen before inside the ponds....old fence wire, fence posts and assortment of old bricks and metal trash. Almost dry enough for me to down into the pond and begin cleanup operations.

What's happening with the water table, river/lake levels, etc.?

4 dry springs on my property, so the water table is effected for whatever the source is for them. A fifth spring started running a couple months ago after some heavy rain in the mountains above me. The 5 springs have all dried up before according to family records. This is just another weather cycle.

A year round creek flows through the property, the head water for it is about 1000 feet upstream and it is a fairly large spring. its level has not been affected during this drought.

It's all the camels and camel flatulence they had 6000 years ago that caused the climate to change resulting in what is now a desert.
