Those in Western Oregon and Washington that feed our resident Annas Hummingbirds, don't forget to rotate feeders inside/outside to keep them thawed. I have two sets and rotate them to put out room temp food a few times during the day and first thing at dawn. I saw someone wrapped LED Christmas lights around theirs. I did not think LEDs put out much heat, but maybe so.
Edit: Anyone know why this would not work? I had an unused heat trace cable in the shop. End of the trace would go to a second feeder.
I suppose the heat-tape would work, but at least in our location the feeders have to be refilled every second or third day and it looks like it may not be so convenient to do with the tape in place?
We keep two or three feeder on the south side and one on the north side of the house and swap them as needed when it's below freezing.
The coldest we've had in the last few years has been about 20F or so.
Apparently they eat lot of insects during warmer months.
