Well - It's pretty cold here, again, this morning. 41F. Ground is still wet from our last rain.

Not quite that cold here. Still bring inside tomatoes to ripen. 41F would ruin them. Late this year since I thought the weather would be like last year.

Boy! Do I ever love home-grown tomatoes. The deer like them also. Oh, well - I get some from my son. He's in Spokane and the deer, et al, don't bother them in there.

The deer are particularly bad this year and I wonder if the hot and very dry weather factors...

Never have the succulents been on the menu but mostly only stalks now... can anyone say salad bar?

Maybe looking for water as neighbors decades in the area said deer don't bother succulents but even lawn is nearly extinct this year.

Water agencies say reduction not being met so it could get ugly next season...

It is a delicate balance in that aggressive conservation cripples the bottom line...

We have about 50,000 small aspens the deer love to munch on. I leave them sprouting so they can enjoy.

They say we will have another rain front come through at the end of the week. Happy equinox, everyone. I'm really glad to see the end of this summer.
