Is it raining in the rain forest?
100" here last year: that qualifies, according to some definitions, my environment as being a "rain forest" (oh yeah, there's also trees here!). As it's currently raining here the answer is: Yes!

If my well ever goes dry that means everyone else is dead! (my well running dry would be like when hell freezes over, so everyone ought to be reasonably safe!)

The 100" exceeded the norm of 42". But it would have helped the water table for sure.

Arlington is a BIG place! I live out away from the formal "town," out toward the mountains: more unincorporated, but there's got to be a name so Arlington is it. Average at my place is closer to Darrington's average, which is about 77" (I'm much closer to Arlington than Darrington).

Last year's 100" did seem excessive. One just kind of survives it: seems everywhere there's something that's climatically challenging- if it ain't one thing it's another! Will see what this year ends up as. So far I've recorded just over 52" and we're heading back into a rainy part of the year.

Our puddles have puddles, and those puddles have puddles! Works for our ducks and geese!

1.9" in my rain gauge. I'll take it. The forecast is for sunny with highs in the low 80s this week, so summer is not over yet.

Pacific North West cooling season has just begun after this last bit of rain/snow. Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams have turned from dirty black / gray to all white from the snow.

Got it. I have property in the rain shadow of the Olympics where we are lucky to get 15" to 17" a year, more like what Oosik gets. We are thrilled there to see a mud puddle to say the least. If we do, we consider that a once a year event. Where I live we get about 30" a year, much wetter.

Eugene is in a very strange situation where by we want to give services, but these folk just keep coming in from out of state. I believe, most locals thought all this help would be going to other locals that were down and out. This is different. These are not locals. They have never lived here. their parents never lived here. They have no heritage to be Oregonians.

Let there be rain, rain, rain. Miserable amounts of rain. And cold.

Well - It's pretty cold here, again, this morning. 41F. Ground is still wet from our last rain.
